Kayla Williams

  • Kayla is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with Sprout Pediatrics, LLC. Kayla is originally from Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School. She later attended Columbia College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2006. Kayla later went on to the University of South Carolina and earned a Master’s in Communication Disorders in 2009.

While working on her graduate degree, Kayla began working in Spartanburg School District 7 and then in Richland/Lexington School District 5, where she continues to provide services. Over the course of 16 years, Kayla has worked with a variety of speech and language disorders, ranging from 3-21 years old. Eight of those years, she has also worked in early intervention and private therapy. Kayla is particularly gifted at treating children who need early language therapy and Childhood Apraxia of Speech therapy. While Kayla has served children with all disabilities, she has extensive experience with children who use communication devices as well as children with autism spectrum disorder.

Kayla is a seeker of learning and continuing to grow as a professional. She is currently working on becoming skilled and educated in the Natural Language Acquisition framework and gestalt language processing, which will make her an NLA Trained Clinician. In 2014, Kayla was Nationally Board Certified in Early Childhood-Young Adult/Exceptional Needs Specialist. Kayla says, “this field evolves practice and research, so I am always learning; however, my biggest teachers are the children!”

Kayla loves working at Sprout because, “Sprout genuinely cares about the children and families they serve and is true to their values. I am truly thankful and excited to be a part of the family at #teamsprout!”

Kayla is married to Chad and they have a daughter, Kalli, and son, Cam. Kalli attends Clemson University and enjoys all things wildlife. Cam is in middle school and keeps them busy with dance, voice, acting and musical theatre. In her very minimal spare time, Kayla enjoys refinishing or repainting furniture, hanging out near a body of water, traveling, or cheering on the Gamecocks!
